Labor Day was created to recognize working men and women and has been a national holiday since 1894 in the United States and Canada. Labor Day is celebrated in different ways. It is a day for community celebrations, parades and fireworks. Labor Day may mark the end of summer with a last visit to the beach or pool before the cooler weather begins.
