Spring is here and it is time to go down that honey-do list to make sure you are prepared for the season ahead. Taking care of things now will allow the maximum enjoyment through the season. The items on this list may vary depending on type of mechanical systems in your home.

1. Clean out gutters and downspouts. Make sure they are clear of debris and water runs freely.
2. Clean up and prune all greenery around your home before any additional planting.
3. Fertilize the lawn and shrubs
4. Open the valves for outside spigots and attach exterior garden hoses
5. Test outdoor sprinklers
6. Turn on A/C to make sure everything is working properly, schedule annual service
7. Have the dryer vent and HVAC ducts professionally cleaned
8. Have the vent of a gas fireplace or chase of a wood-burning fireplace professionally cleaned
9. Reverse the blade rotation of ceiling fans in the house to spring/summer mode
10. Check and replace, if needed, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors & change batteries
11. Change batteries in thermostats
12. Check and replace, if needed, fire extinguishers
13. Change filter on furnace
14. Repaint exterior trim that may have weathered during the winter
15. Check and replace weather stripping where needed on your home. Re-caulk where needed.
16. Vacuum the refrigerator condenser coils to keep your refrigerator working efficiently
17. Clean and repair or replace window and door screens
18. Clean your windows, inside & out – help bring the beauty of the outside in!
